Week 3 Davighi - Ingratiate

Ingratiate (v): Bring oneself into favor with someone by flattering or trying to please them

"Back in the Gilded Age, one of the Robber Barons tricks to gain favor was to ingratiate themselves with the politicians, making them more powerful and able to have more leeway in the government."

I choose this vocab word because it connected to what I was studying in history class, and the final report I had to do on whether the businessmen in the Gilded Age should be considered Robber Barons or Captains of Industry. This is one of the points I made in my statement which is why I thought it was a good connection to the word.
