Week 8 Kirby "Harlequin"
Sentence: “On buffet tables, garnished with glistening hors-d’oeuvre, spiced baked hams crowded against salads of harlequin designs and pastry pigs and turkeys bewitched to a dark gold.” (Fitzgerald 44)
Meaning: (n) a clown or buffoon.
Reasoning: What an interesting word. When I first saw this in The Great Gatsby I thought that there was no way that that could be an actual word, turns out it is.
