Week 8 Ratte "Supercilious"
Supercilious: (adjective) Looking or behaving as one is better than others.
“The supercilious assumption was that on Sunday afternoon I had nothing better to do.”
I found this word when reading The Great Gatsby and wondered what it had meant. The word was describing an "assumption" so I knew it was an adjective, but I did not know the meaning. After finding the meaning this sentence, as a whole, was more clear to me.
